Update: Unfortunately this Xbox One S 2TB Launch Edition deal from Newegg is now all sold out. For those still interested, there is a similar value Xbox One S deal available with extra free controller and one year's worth of Xbox Live Gold.
Gamers interested in the Xbox One S who didn't hop bandwagon when it first released earlier this month can get a better deal now with some extra incentives. Retailers are aiming to move the recently released 2TB Launch Edition ahead the upcoming and cheaper 500GB and 1TB models later this month. Newegg is the main culprit, with their eBay shop offering an Xbox One S 2TB Launch Edition with four free games as an added bonus for $399.99.
Given the 2TB Launch Edition is at list price everywhere else, this Newegg deal is significantly better than simply picking up a unit at Walmart or Best Buy - after all, the bundle comes with four free additional Xbox One titles vs. none for the same price.
The freebies games are:
- Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
- Dishonored: Definitive Edition
- Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
- Tom Clancy's The Division
Except for Dishonored, all titles are recent release within a year's timeframe.
There are additional perks if you opt to pick up this Xbox One S deal versus the local store. The big draw being sales tax savings, provided you don't reside in California, Indiana, New Jersey, or Tennessee. Newegg has warehouses in each of these locations, so you'll generally receive the console fairly quickly and within about 3 business days (with free shipping of course). The last added perk is an $8 in eBay bucks reward that you'll earn good towards anything on eBay.
Should you expect more Xbox One S deals in the coming months? We think so. At launch, we spotted two deals available (also on eBay), one of which was from Newegg offering three free games in lieu of the current four. Another deal is a simple $25 gift card as an extra bonus. Unsurprisingly, the three free game deal sold out much faster.
This current deal is selling at a decent pace, with more than 49% sold at the time of writing. While we don't think Xbox gamers will see any straight up discount anytime soon on the Xbox One S, more variety of bonuses/bundles will be offered - particularly when the 500GB and 1TB Xbox One S bundles arrive at the end of this month. If you're not in a hurry to pick up the new Xbox One S, waiting a few more weeks certainly won't be a bad idea. If however you're about to head out to the nearby GameStop - you may as well pick up this deal, snag four free games, and potentially save on sales tax.
