Sony hasn't posted any official word or updated their status webpage, but a lot of users seem to be complaining about not being able to access the PSN on social media. There are problems with both strictly online features and with the ability to play single-player games as well. Especially those that rely on a server-connection to operate.

So if you have issues, don't hesitate to let us or Sony know via social media. The more points of reference they have, then the faster they can actually fix it. We'll be on the lookout for any updates to the service.
