SEGA posted on their Facebook page that we should expect a new game from them today. And a game that supposedly should be fairly exciting for those that have enjoyed the classic SEGA flair that they're known for.

Just recently there were rumanations in the community about a 25th Anniversary to Sonic the Hedgehog, and a new classically styled platformer to help celebrate. This might very well be exactly that, because we were promised, in not so many words, that we'd have something Sonic to play.

As you can see, just below the hype generating comment, the official Sonic the Hedgehog account actually asks if it's a continuation of Sonic '06, though that game is most definitely not representative of the classic style that we think, and hope, that SEGA is referring to. But that was likely a joke, and a funny one at that! What's actually in store? We can't wait to find out either.
