Featuring a 50 percent increase in the prize pool, ESL has announced that its 2016 Pro League will feature a cool $1.5 million in cash prizes, compared to $1 million in 2015.
With Ulrich Schulze, VP Pro Gaming at ESL, stating that his company is "working on enabling larger offline crowds to follow the action as players battle in matches that could define the rest of their lives" as a major focus in 2016, this massive prize pool will also be linked to "television broadcasts, a higher standard of online production, a continued emphasis on competitive integrity."
Also covered in the recent press release was the first event of this year, seeing $750,000 being given away across four months of CS:GO action - kicking off on February 9 and with the offline finals in May at an unannounced location.
