ESL chooses the new Unreal Tournament for its eSports future

Unreal Tournament enters the world of professional eSports, with ESL choosing the still-in-progress FPS for professional competitive gaming

eSports giant ESL has announced that it will be using the new Unreal Tournament for competitive gaming, an announcement that should ring nostalgia bells for old-school UT gamers - like myself.

Epic Games is still working on the new Unreal Tournament, which is something you can download right now in its pre-alpha state. Unreal Tournament is the "first game of this pace" in the words of WCCFTech's Jeff Williams, and it's true - most eSports games are not this fast - except for CS:GO. Call of Duty and Battlefield don't come close to the intensely fast-paced gameplay of Unreal Tournament.
