Targeting the CIS region and Latin America with the initial launch, LG has announced the release of its new smartphone, the LG Ray, set to rock the global 3G markets.

The Ray's 5.5-inch HD display and 8MP front camera are the main features that LG is pushing, with a recent press release claiming that these additions are "unavailable in competing devices." Powered by a 1.4GHz Octa-Core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM, this smartphone allows for MicroSD storage expansion and comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Further features include a 158g weight, dual SIM capabilities, Bluetooth 3.0 and a 3,000mAh capacity battery. There's no saying for sure just yet if this battery is removable or not, we will have to wait and see.

LG hasn't released any global pricing for this model, stating that these details "will be announced locally at the time of launch."
