Skype iPhone, iPad 6.6 update integrates Maps, Calendar app functions

New Skype for iPad, iPhone lets you multitask better, set up events and more easier

Version 6.6 of Skype is out now for iPads and iPhones everywhere. With it comes some neat multitasking functionality that should make life a little easier.

Now within instant message windows you'll notice highlighted phone numbers, addresses, times, and dates. Tapping these will allow you to easily make a call, plan a trip via Apple Maps, and set up a calendar event, respectively. The events functionality is particularly impressive as it uses details from your conversation to set it up, and includes a link to the specific chat -- helpful if you need to remember details about it, or want to quickly make a call when the time comes.

Additionally, it's now easier to get back into active calls from chat and contact list windows -- just tap the active call banner. Unread messages are easier to navigate, too: just click the new back button in chat windows to see what you've missed (a handy unread message counter will show you exactly how much you've missed).

Grab the update through the Apple Store if you haven't downloaded it already.
