We all knew Halo 5: Guardians was going to do big business, but it has quickly become the fastest-selling Halo game of all time. Halo 5 has pulled in $400 million in its first week in global game and hardware sales, pushing the franchise past the huge $5 billion milestone.

If we rewind to 2012, Halo 4 launched with $300 million in its first week - $100 million less than Halo 5. The launch of Halo 5 is also the biggest launch for an Xbox One game so far, earning Microsoft a Guinness World Record for the most watched video game launch broadcast. Microsoft said over 330,000 uniques watched the event, with Halo gamers pumping over 21 million hours of gameplay in the first week, with over 12 million hours pumped into the campaign.
