With the impending release of Valve's gaming arsenal, which includes Steam OS, Steam Controller, Steam Machines and the Steam Box, Valve is beginning to talk more about letting ads onto their Steam platform.
During a recent interview with GameSpot, Valve's Erik Johnson said: "It would be a bad business decision, let alone just dumb. We don't see a case for that ever getting user value, so we wouldn't do it. I don't think that those ever work, either. To take it a step further, I don't think anybody buys Doritos as a result of that".
It's good to see that Valve don't just want to shove ads down gamers' throats, as this is something that will clearly differentiate them from the competition come next month, and into 2016.
