Now that Jack Dorsey is back in the CEO throne of Twitter, rumor has it there will be layoff announcements coming on October 13, according to sources of both The New York Times and Recode.

Recode is reporting that this is an attempt by the social network to better organize their engineering team, which has become "bloated". Previous rumors stated that Twitter had stopped plans of its San Francisco HQ expansion, but Dorsey wants to save more money, so we're to expect layoffs very soon.

Twitter is of course not talking about these rumors, but insiders say that Twitter's programming team is much bigger than the company should have, given its growth. The social network has doubled its staff in the last two years, but it has only added 50% more users to Twitter. We should hear more, and be able to confirm these rumors, on October 13.
