If there was a unique way to propose to your girlfriend, this would be it - through VR. Chandler Murch, who works at Valve, proposed to his girlfriend Kelly Tortorice using the HTC Vive headset.

Murch took Tortorice to Valve's HQ in Bellevue, WA (lucky girl) to show her the various SteamVR demos that they have been showing off at various gaming expos throughout the year. Tortorice explains: "So there I was, typical day... on a sunken ship deck; fixing robots; painting three-dimensional fire; walking through the Alps. Suddenly, a virtual engagement ring started floating my way".

Murch had walked up to Tortorice while she was in the world of VR, where he was holding a trackable HTC Vive wand controller. In her world, wearing the HTC Vive headset, she saw a ring floating in mid-air. She took off the Vive headset to see her boyfriend down on one knee, in the real-world this time, proposing to her. She added: "It wasn't imaginary anymore". And of course, she said yes.
