Square Enix showed off another trailer for Final Fantasy Worlds, a huge mish-mash crossover featuring a ton of familiar faces across the franchise's decades-long history.
When Final Fantasy Worlds was first announced at E3 2015, no one really knew what to make of it, and the footage left us scratching our heads. The new trailer showcased at the Tokyo Game Show does a good job of explaining things and gives us a better picture at Square Enix's goal.
Basically Final Fantasy Worlds combines the wide Final Fantasy canon into a single dreamy, fairy tae realm. This world is called Grymoire, and features lovable creatures like mogs and cactaurs as well as iconic heroes like Cloud, Lightning and the Hero of Light. The game is an RPG at its core, but the graphics are very cutesy and have a self-described "toy-like flair".
This looks like prime territory for Square Enix to venture into its own Amiibo/Skylander-esque game hub and print off dozens of cute figurines that unlock in-game missions and content. Maybe we'll see something like that soon, but for now Worlds of Final Fantasy is heading to PS4 and PS Vita in 2016.
