This summer's biggest turkey; the reboot of 'Fantastic Four' might have been shunned by cinemagoers (a $160 million worldwide gross off a $120 million budget) and critics alike (currently enjoys a 9% rating on Rotten Tomatoes), but 20th Century Fox is continuing to press ahead with a sequel, confirming their earlier commitment from last month.
Speaking to MTV, Producer Simon Kinsberg smited fans with news that he's "really focused on the next one" and that he was "most disappointed that fans didn't like it. I care more about them than I do anyone else. But I haven't done a full deep dive on it. Do I think it was unfairly treated? I don't know".
No Simon, they weren't unfair. Director Josh Trank produced an unwatchable mess of a film that couldn't be saved from recuts and reshoots. Like a perpetually sick pet, this would-be franchise needs to be put down and returned to Marvel.
