- INTEL Multi-core Facts, Figures And Decoder Ring
Originally sourced from Intel's Developer Forum in San Francisco recently, we've just acquired a Fact sheet which details Intel's current status on their various multi-core related projects and the timeframes in which we'll be waiting for them to hit the market. Well worth flicking through to get an idea of whats to come in the next-gen of platforms from Intel.
INTEL DEVELOPER FORUM, SAN FRANCISCO, Intel discussed more than 15 dual and multi-core projects underway throughout the company's high-end server, volume server, workstation, desktop, mobile and networking platform families. Three of these processors were disclosed for the first time: Presler, Paxville, and Dempsey. Intel also outlined code names for each of its platform areas.
- Transcend Releases New Ultra JetFlash2A Series / 4GB Non-stacked Memory Modules
A couple of new products from Transcend were announced yesterday. Beginning with their new Ultra high-speed mini-sized USB 2.0 JetFlash 2A series, this new member to the JetFlash range not only gets a speed boost but is also physically smaller than previous versions. Storage capacities range from 128mb to 2GB.
Transcend Information, Inc. launches its New Ultra high-speed mini-sized USB 2.0 JetFlash 128MB - 2GB (2A series). The new JetFlash2A is now even faster than before and provides more flexibility for use with USB peripheral devices.
The new Ultra JetFlash2A measures just 75 x 25 x 11 mm and weighs only 15g. Transcend's ultra JetFlash2A has very good performance with read speed of 12MB/sec and write speed of 8MB/sec (based on 128MB~1GB model). Transcend's JetFlash2A is based on dual-channel technology, which achieves impressive read/write speeds of 20/14MB per second (based on 2GB model). Keeping with the classic JetFlash look, Transcend's newest USB 2.0 JetFlash2A provides a hook and neck strap for convenience and to prevent loss, it also makes it easier to remove the device from USB ports.
Continuing on, Transcend have also just introduced their whopping 4GB "non-stacked" memory modules which are primarily designed for use in high-end computing systems such as SUN's BLADE 1000 series servers.
Transcend's 4GB memory modules allow you to get maximum performance from SUN's Blade 1000 series servers at a very competitive price. Transcend's 4GB non-stacked memory modules consist of 144pcs 32Mx8 brand name original chips. The eight-layer PCB used for these 4GB modules is designed to meet the most demanding specifications, by minimizing noise signal disturbance and enhancing overall performance.
