DICE has just announced a new game mode for Star Wars Battlefront, which will be a new take on the classic king of the hill gameplay that we've all known and loved for years now.

The new mode is called Drop Zone, where you will play as either the Rebel Alliance or Empire, where players will "defend familiar-looking pods that drop from the sky in 16-player battles", reports Polygon. DICE took to the official website of Star Wars Battlefront to announce the news, adding that players will need to stay close to the location of the drop pods if they want to win the game.

The first team that secures five of the pods, or the team who holds the most drop pods after 10 minutes, will be the winner. DICE added that Drop Zone is "all about action and quick thinking". Star Wars Battlefront's Lead Level Designer, Dennis Brännvall explains: "We're promoting the idea of a fast, action-packed game where you need to be mobile and think on your feet. Camping doesn't really pay off".
