Some of you may have already noticed, but Google has updated the look of YouTube on the web today, with the web-based video player receiving a slick new look.

YouTube now features a transparent control bar which disappears after a few seconds, with the timeline bar being thin until you run your mouse cursor over it, which makes it easier to manipulate. The Settings menu has also been tweaked, which now has a more mobile-like feel, while the "watch later" button now gone, kinda.

The "watch now" button is still there, but you have to go into full screen mode to find it, where it's now hiding in the top right hand corner of the video.
