The Game Developers Conference is really beginning to pick up steam, with virtual reality headset makers using the conference to catapult their new VR headsets into the eyes of consumers.
The company behind GDC, UBM Tech, has announced a new standalone Virtual Reality Developers Conference (VRDC) that will be held alongside GDC 2016. VRDC will take place during the first two days of GDC 2016, on March 14-15, with UBM Tech saying that the event will include augmented reality, VR headsets, gaming and much more.
UBM Tech said: "Programming for the conference will include valuable content for the burgeoning masses of VR game developers, storytellers, and creators looking to harness the uncharted potential of VR technology for 3D games, CG movies, actual filmed experiences and beyond".
The company will be calling for submissions to VRDC between September 8 and October 2, with tickets to VRDC allowing ticket holders access to the main GDC Expo floor between March 16-18. UBM Tech hasn't unveiled pricing for VRDC just yet, but GDC Summit and All-Access Pass holders will also gain entry into VRDC, too.
