Konami has already pissed fans off by killing off Silent Hills, but they're coming back for more with the rumor that Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will feature optional microtransactions.
News of the in-game microtransactions has come from the Italian PlayStation pre-order page for the game, which says "Acquisti in-game opzionali" which roughly translates to "optional in-game purchases". IGN has also noticed this when they previewed MGS 5 last month, where in the demo they saw an option to speed up development on Mother Base with the following prompt: "Reduced time features cannot be used in offline mode".
Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain uses the same in-game currency as MGS: Peace Walker, which is called GMP, or Gross Military Product. We could see microtransactions in MGS 5, and that's going to disappoint fans of the game.
