SanDisk announces portable SSDs up to 1.92TB in capacity

SanDisk announces a new 1.92TB portable SSD model alongside a drive half the size of your phone.

Yep you read it right, a total of 1.92TB is on offer by SanDisk through its brand new Extreme 900 Portable SSD range - designed with people working on 4K resolution projects in mind.

Released alongside the SanDisk Extreme 500 Portable SSDs, this 900 series comes packed in an aluminum case and offers speeds of up to 850MB/s, featuring both USB Type-C and Type-A cables.

The Extreme 500 Portable SSDs are less than half the size of a smartphone and boast a four times speed increase on regular hard drives. With speeds on offer of up to 415MB/s, these models will come in 120GB, 240GB and 480GB size options and will be priced at $99.99, $149.99 and $239.99 respectively.

The larger Extreme 900 Portable SSDs will be released in 480GB, 960GB and 1.92TB size options, priced at $399.99, $599.99 and $999.9. All models will be released with a three-year warranty as pointed out in a recent press release.
