All good things must come to an end, and seemingly, even very mediocre things too. Fans of boy band 'One Direction' are deeply upset this morning by the announcement that Zayn Malik has exited the group. In a statement released to media, Malik has stated that "after five years, I feel like it is now the right time for me to leave the band".
Shooting to prominence on the UK talent show 'The X Factor', judge Simon Cowell signed members Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson to his label Syco Records in 2010 before selling millions of copies of their first four albums, DVDs and lucrative merchandise which propelled them into super-stardom. Ironically, the band's latest album titled 'Four' now signifies the number of members.
Never fear however, as Cowell has confirmed that "Niall, Liam, Harry and Louis are hugely excited about the future of the band".
