- ACON DOOM 3 Media FragFest

ABIT have yet another gaming event in preparation which will take place on the 31st of this month. The event will consist of members from many popular well known IT media websites participating in an all out DOOM 3 deathmatch battle. Our own Cameron Wilmot will of course be in on the action and is training up hard to kick some serious butt! The winner from each of the Americas/EMEA/Asia groups will score hardware'a'plenty with which they can then raffle off to the regulars on their site so there's something in it for you guys too :) - Whats more, we see ABIT include the "Place Your Bets Contest" once again with which you'll be able to vote for whom you think will reign supreme in their region, and providing you make the right choice you'll be entered into a draw for some ABIT goodness including motherboards and graphics cards. The ACON DOOM 3™ Media FragFest invites the world's top IT media to an online DOOM 3™ tournament to the finish. Your favorite IT publications will be in attendance to find out once and for all which ones have the skill and guile to take on the world.

The ACON DOOM 3 Media FragFest gathers hardware and gaming media from around the world and pits them against one another in a DOOM 3™ Deathmatch tournament. Media participants will be grouped according to their geographic location (Americas/EMEA/Asia) and will play on servers located in their respective regions. In addition to the coveted ACON Media FragFest Open Cup, the winner that emerges from each of the 3 regions will win 2 power-packed PC upgrade packages that they can raffle off to their faithful readers, including memory, CPU, and a VIA-based ABIT motherboard.

- Intel Sees Arrival Of Entertainment PCs In The Digital Home

Supporting a clear path behind the digital home revolution, Intel has another announcement up for the day highlighting their efforts to have showcased several of the first "Entertainment PC's" which come from OEM's at the digital home pavilion of the Intel Developer Forum Tech Showcase in Taipei just today. Entertainment (OEM home theatre) pc's showcased were system's from Asus, Belta, FIC, Gigabyte, Tatung, TCL and Wistron. Further details within Intel's official PR.

INTEL DEVELOPER FORUM, Taipei, 26 October, 2004 - Intel today showcased several of the first Entertainment PCs from Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs) in Asia.

Soaring sales of digital cameras, music players, CD/DVD players, digital TVs, personal video recorders (PVR) and a slew of other digital devices highlight the pervasiveness of digital entertainment. Consumers who want to enjoy this vast selection of digital content on their home TVs and stereos now have an easier way to do this due to this new category of the PCs: the Entertainment PC.
