Sony have moved to replace the universally disliked Music Unlimited service across their range of PlayStation, network and mobile devices with the universally loved Spotify service in a new partnership that brings the two company together for the first time.

In announcing the imminent release of Spotify for PS4, the company confirmed that gamers can stream from the collection of 30 million songs and 1.5 billion Spotify playlists in-game along with the rather vague promise of "other great features that will be available exclusively through Spotify on PlayStation Music".

Sony have stated that the new service will launch in 41 markets initially on PS4 and PS3, as well as Xperia smartphones and tablets.
