Earlier in the year we heard about the Samsung Z, which was meant to be a high-end handset featuring Tizen. This handset was thrown out at the last minute, with the company reiterating that it wanted to make sure its first Tizen-powered smartphone had a good array of applications available before it launched.

Samsung's Z1 smartphone will be a mid-range handset, featuring a 4-inch WVGA display, 1.2GHz dual-core processor, dual-SIM capabilities, and a 3.2-megapixel rear-facing camera.
