Apple has announced its latest media event for October 16, next Thursday, where it looks like we'll be greeted with the new iPad Air 2 according to these new leaked videos and shots of Apple's thinned-out slate.
The updated iPad Air 2 should feature a redesigned look, a new speaker grill that has just a single row of holes versus the two sets of holes on the first-gen iPad Air. Not only that, but the recessed volume buttons look like the ones we have on the iPhone 6, and now we have a gold ring around the Home button which should arrive as Touch ID, allowing for mobile payments with Apple Pay, as well as fingerprint security on your iOS-based tablet.
We should also expect the iPad Air 2 to arrive with Apple's new A8 processor, the same silicon found in the new iPhones, 2GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera and improved Retina display. The new iPad Air 2 will reportedly be made available in gold, the first time that any iPad has been made in the alluring color.
