With only a few dozen copies of the 75 year old comic still in existence from an estimated 200,000 print run in 1938, the auction represented the finest condition copy of the comic yet known, receiving an almost unheard of 9.0 rating from the CGC. The secret to its condition was due to being stored in a wooden cedar chest at high altitude in the mountains of West Virginia, USA.
