Razer today announced the Junglecat gamepad for Apple iOS devices, entering the mobile phone hardware market in a highly-anticipated move. The peripheral was designed to attach comfortably to the Apple iPhone - and it can be left attached to the smartphone - with all buttons and ports still available. The device is fully supported by iOS 7 and has been designed for the iPhone 5/5s models.
In addition to the peripheral, the Junglecat also includes an iOS app so users are able to customize and remap button functions. The Razer Jungecat will be available in July with a $99.99 MSRP.
"Game development is cascading into mobile with incredible production values and at a record pace, and the crossover of console gamers playing on their iOS and other mobile devices is growing in stride," said Min-Liang Tan, Razer co-founder and CEO, in a statement. "The opportunity to design a sleek, high-performance gamepad controller for the iPhone was an exciting proposition that we can't wait to share with our community and the world."
