ASUS 15.6-inch ROG notebook rocks Core i7-4700HQ CPU
ASUS unveiled a new gaming notebook with a 15.6-inch screen and Intel Core i7 power under the hood using graphics from NVIDIA.
ASUS has unveiled its latest addition to the line of Republic of Gamers gaming notebooks. The latest addition to that series of notebooks is a 15.6-inch machine that uses an Intel Core i7 processor. The specific processor under the hood of the gaming notebook is the Core i7-4700HQ.
The machine has an Intel Mobile HM86 chipset and offers up to 16GB of RAM. The 15.6-inch screen uses AG IPS FHD tech with an LED backlight. The native resolution of the optional screen is 1920 x 1080 and the screen promises 178-degree viewing angles. The standard display is a 15.6-inch AG HD LED unit with resolution of 1366 x 768.
Graphics are via NVIDIA GeForce GTX 850M with 2/4GB of DDR3 VRAM. Storage is via a 2.5-inch SATA 1TB/1.5TB drive, 2.5-inch 750GB/1TB 7200rpm drives, or a 2.5-inch 750GB 5400 RPM drive. A Blu-ray drive is optional and the keyboard on all models has a red backlight. Pricing and availability information is unknown at this time.
