Old school gamers who remember the NeoGeo will probably remember one of the games for that system that was called Metal Slug. The game was originally a 2D shooter title and it is back for mobile gamers.
Metal Slug Defense is no longer a standard 2D shooter, the new version of the game is a tower defense and strategy game. Metal Slug Defense is available on the iOS and Android platforms. Game play with the updated version of the game is completely different from that original game, but the mobile app has the same blocky dot pixel graphics that the original boasted for a retro feel.
The game has regular and rebel armies that fight each other with over 60 different characters and units. Over 100 background stages are recreated from Metal Slug games. As players beat those stages, new units and rewards will be unlocked. Troops and weapons in the game can be leveled up as you win in battle. The game supports competition with other players via Wi-Fi. The game is on the App Store and Google Play now at no cost and is supported via in-app purchases.
