- Intel Chipsets to Lack AGP Support?

Anand over at AnandTech has posted a short piece on his website which suggests Intel may not be including AGP support in any of their upcoming chipsets in favor of PCI Express.

I know for a fact certain companies are creating dual path GPU's which will work in both AGP 8x and PCI Express 16x, especially companies which are working next to Intel on their new products. It makes me wonder if these companies would really bother spending the extra time and money creating dual paths for both interfaces if Intel has no intention to support AGP.

We originally assumed that this was a bit of an oversight so we consulted Intel's motherboard roadmaps - what we found was more support for our theory: none of Intel's motherboards based on the 925X and 915 chipsets (Alderwood and Grantsdale) feature an AGP slot.

- EPIC chat at 3DGPU

Our good friends over at 3DGPU hosted an IRC chat last night with EPIC and nVidia on UT2004, among other things. If this type of thing interests you, head on over and check out what was said.

Below you'll find our chat with Epic Games and NVIDIA, which took place in an IRC chat room with over 500 people. Questions were asked and they were answered as soon as they could. Since this was all in real-time in a chat room, it takes some time for a person to answer.
