Like many things today, not all outdoor speakers are created equal. You can take any wireless speaker outside, but whether or not it will survive dust, tumbles, or water depends on how rugged the device is. Braven has unveiled a new portable speaker that is called the BRV-X.
This ultra-rugged speaker can be used inside and out and has the ability to be paired wirelessly with a second unit for stereo sound. The speaker is rugged enough to survive, rain, drops, and other trials that it will see in the outdoors.
Sound comes from custom HD drivers and an omni-directional bass radiator. Braven fits the speaker with an indoor or outdoor switch to change the music to suit the environment. The BRV-X is IPX5 water-resistant and has a USB port for charging devices like smartphones and more.
Power comes from a 5200 mAh internal battery and the BRV-X has a microphone so it can be used as a speakerphone. Braven also fits the speaker with a strap to secure it to a bike, ATV, tent, or other surface. The BRV-X speaker is available now for $229.99.
