Coinciding with today's launch of the highly anticipated game, THIEF, AMD has released version 14.2 of its Catalyst video drivers. THIEF is an exclusive partner of the AMD Gaming Evolved program and was built with AMD graphics in mind. AMD says that when using AMD Graphics, THIEF players have 4K support, Eyefinity support, and Crossfire support right out of the box. Thief will run on DirectX 11 in the beginning, but AMD says that Mantle support is coming later next month.
So what exactly does the 14.2 Catalyst update bring to the table? The new beta drivers fix hangs and stuttering when using Mantle in Battlefield 4, and users are encouraged to try out the mGPU setting. Multi GPU frame pacing in Battlefield 4 is now enabled for non-XDMA setups with resolutions greater than 1600p. The update also brings back the features 14.1 killed in Minecraft. Finally cossfire profiles have been updated and performance improvements for single GPU configurations for THIEF. Head over to the source link below to download your copy of the drivers today.
