- Retro Look - Golden AXE

EliteBastards take us for a stroll down memory lane with a look at the once highly popular and nostalgic arcade game "Golden Axe" along with several of the conversions made for home entertainment consoles and PC's shortly after. I remember spending a fortune at the local arcade on this one for months! The article also helps to remind us all of the successful gaming devices and PC's 'back in the day' as well as the distinguished capabilities between each of them. Of course, if you're old enough to remember, nothing came remotely close to ye'ole faithful Amiga. Aaaah, I miss those days......

In these days of powerful consoles and PCs, it's difficult to imagine that there was a time when coin-op machines were the top-end gaming systems around. Of course, gamers were keen to play these games in the comfort of their own homes and many software companies were eager to licence out coin-op games.

Depending on the target system (and the skill of the developers involved), these conversions had varying degress of success. So, as a little slice of nostalgia and a good excuse to compare the capabilites of various systems, we bring you a look at Golden Axe and some of its many conversions!

- Chaintech 5 GeForce FX Review : 5 Card Line-Up

The guys at Ixbt-Labs have obtained 5 of nVidia's latest graphics cards by Chaintech and thrown them all into a single roundup. The cards used are the 5600XT 128MB 64bit, 5600XT 256MB 128bit, FX 5700 Ultra 128MB, FX 5900 128MB, and of course, the 5950 Ultra 256MB. If you're a potential nVidia card buyer, this would be well worth a read!

Today we are going to have a look at a new Chaintech line. You might remember the 6BTM mainboard which made Chaintech so popular as it was one of the fastest and most reliable i440BX based boards. After that the company raised and failed, but it did its best to increase the volume of production of video cards and expand the range of products. Today Chaintech is NVIDIA's certified partner and it makes cards based on NVIDIA's processors only.

Chaintech has taken advantage of all NVIDIA's latest products and released a series of cards based on the latest GeForce FX GPUs. You can get more information on what the GeForce FX is able of in our previous reviews.
