CES 2014 - Days before CES 2014, Corning has announced its new Gorilla Glass tech, something it calls 3D-shaped Gorilla Glass. This new tech from Corning will protect the new curved devices hitting the market, like Samsung's Galaxy Round and LG's G Flex smartphones.
The new 3D Gorilla Glass uses a new manufacturing process that is capable of making glass in unique shapes, without the scratch-resistant properties becoming weaker, or getting thicker. Corning is now capable of making everything in-house, including making glass for flat and curved displays. Right now, Corning's Gorilla Glass is protecting millions of smartphones already out, and many more slated to arrive in the coming months and years.
