Notebook and server specialist Eurocom launched the Panther 5SE mobile server, a powerful Intel Xeon-powered device designed for server virtualization. The device is designed to work immediately out of the box, and running VMware vSphere Hypervisor 5.5 gives users the ability to virtualize their work environment in a streamlined, simplified manner.
The Panther 5SE has four memory slots, supporting up to 32GB of RAM; four HDD/SSD in RAID up to 6TB storage; and supports the Intel Xeon E5-2600 or Xeon E5-2600 v2 series line of CPU. The mobile server supports Microsoft Windows Server 2008R2, 2012RD, Red Hat 6.4 Enterprise Linux, VMware, or Linux. Since the Panther 5SE is designed as a mobile server, it weighs in at a whopping 12.1 pounds.
Eurocom designed the Panther 5SE to support up 20-50 workers in a single mobile device, pushing the boundaries of a traditional server.
