- More Comdex coverage

From what we've heard and seen so far, Comdex in Las Vegas is not too exciting this year. With only around 30,000 people attending compared to the usual 200,000 from previous years, things don't look too good for the organizers. Nevertheless, the event goes ahead and two more sites have posted Day 1 coverage from the event. It is a shock to actually have to hunt out websites with coverage of a trade show event...a real shock.

First up is Tom's Hardware where they have limited coverage of the event including a high-powered AMD Opteron gaming motherboard, Broadcom on Wi-Fi in mobile devices and other small items of interest, including this attractive lady:

Comdex is a bust, or so they say. While attendance is below last year's already paltry levels, many vendors were still on hand, to show off their latest wares and technologies that won't show up in resellers' hands or on retail shelves before next year. So, while Comdex may indeed be on its last leg after its organizers filed chapter 11 last year, there is still plenty to see.

Meanwhile the lads over at Overclockers Club have their Day 1 coverage posted as well where they attended the nVidia press conference launching their new mobile GPU as well as a few other small companies including Sunbeam and Zalman. And guys, it's a free breakfast - so don't complain! :)

What better place to start our coverage of COMDEX, than the beginning? The first day of COMDEX started as any day should, with breakfast. nVidia invited us to a breakfast, so eagerly we went, expecting eggs, bacon, sausage, and the works. However, to our disappointment breakfast consisted of bagels and mini-muffins. The breakfast was about as exciting as nVidia's booth at last night's bikers bash.

I am happy I did not spend 24 hours flying to the other side of the world to attend the event - that's for certain.
