Microsoft has just pushed out an update for its Surface Pro 2 device, where the company claims to have increased battery life thanks to allowing the baked-in Marvell-based Wi-Fi chip to achieve an even lower power state which results in overall improved battery life.

AnandTech did some testing with the latest firmware on the Surface Pro 2, noting an overall 16% increase in their video playback. Pre-firmware update numbers were sitting at 6.65 hours, but after the firmware update those numbers increased to 7.73 hours, something you cannot complain about when its given to you for free through a firmware update.
