Market share analysis are beginning to roll in for the third quarter of 2013 and as expected, Android is still the dominate OS. Android currently holds an astronomical 81.3-percent of the global smartphone market share, with 204.4 million devices shipped. Those numbers are up from a market share of 75-percent and 129.6 million units shipped during Q3 2012.

Apple's iOS garnered a 13.4-percent market share with 33.8 million devices shipped during 2013. Shipments are up for Apple, but market share slipped from 15.6 during quarter 3 2012. Windows Phone managed to gain more of the market with a 4.1-percent share which is up 2-percent over the same quarter 2012. Windows phone saw only 10.2 million devices ship in the last three months though. Rounding things out is BlackBerry who managed to hold on to just 1-percent of the market with 2.5 million devices shipped.
