HTC begins rolling out Sense 5.5 update today to HTC One smartphones

Sense 5.5 finally begins arriving on HTC One smartphones, may take some time to completely populate with staggered rollout

Today HTC announced that it has began rolling out an update to its HTC One smartphones that updates the current Android skin from Sense 5.4 to version 5.5. The new version of sense features two major changes including the ability to disable BlinkFeed as well as being built on top of Android 4.3. The rollout is staggered so it may take a day or two for all the HTC Ones running Android 4.3 to update.

While HTC says that BlinkFeed is the base upon which Sense is built, 30-percent of its customers do not use the service at all, and allowing them to free up a home screen is an important move HTC feels it needs to make. For those who do not know, BlinkFeed is a Flipboard style news reader that replaces the default home screen on HTC devices. BlinkFeed also gets updated with new features, including the ability to pull news from RSS feeds. Personally, I like Blinkfeed and use it throughout the day to keep up on the latest breaking stories as well as my friends social feeds and am quite excited to check out the new version.
