LG to use curved, 'cable batteries' in future devices

LG's future is looking good, with the company moving into 'cable batteries' for future devices

We know LG is working on 6-inch curved smartphone displays, but just how would that smartphone be curved if the battery is not curved? Well, LG is working on this, announcing that it is indeed working on curved batteries.

LG Chem, a division of LG, is working on producing both curved, and "cable batteries." The company has a patent on "Stack & Folding" technology which will allow it to build a battery with several 'steps' in it. This would allow for a curved battery for devices in that particular form factor. LG also says that the batteries would eventually find their way into watches, and glasses, too.

The curved batteries are already in mass production, where they'll power the next generation of phones from LG.
