Retina iPad mini would feature TouchID, spotted in elusive gold color
One of the biggest shortfalls of the iPad mini is its sub-HD resolution, of just 1024x768, but this is all set to change with the Retina iPad mini. The higher resolution iPad mini is expected to be unveiled next month, but now we have some leaked photos to take a look at.
The photos come from Chinese site ZOL, which is owned by CBS Interactive, which show off the Retina-based iPad mini in that elusive gold color. We know Apple is seeing huge sales in its gold iPhone 5S, with an iPhone 5S in gold color being sold on eBay for as much as $10,000. The shots of the second-generation iPad mini tease the TouchID fingerprint scanner, but these photos could also be fake, too.
We should expect to see the Retina iPad mini unveiled alongside a totally refreshed iPad, where I hope to see an insane resolution and hopefully some better OS-wide pixel adjustment for the extra on-screen real estate. But, I know I'm stretching there and wishing for too much.
