Flash Memory Summit 2013 - Early yesterday, Plextor stopped by our booth to discuss their new enterprise SSD solutions. The Plextor representative said that one of the new enterprise SSDs will be a lower endurance model which will feature consumer grade MLC, which often provides a smaller number of dry writes per module.

A new higher endurance model will also be available that will use a higher grade MLC to provide a much larger number of dry writes per module. He also announced Plextor's entry into the SAS market, one of the fastest growing segments of the enterprise storage market.

Finally they wrapped things up by talking about Plextor's foray into the M.2 form factor. The rep said that Plextor is working on both PCIe and SATA M.2 solutions.
