RumorTT: Refreshed iPad mini display production is ramping up

RumorTT: Display production said to be at 2012 levels for the Retina-based iPad mini

We are to expect a refreshed, high-res "Retina" iPad mini later this year, with a new report stating that the production on these display units is getting close to the 2012 launch level.

This means that we should be close to mass production of the refreshed slate from Apple, hopefully. The original iPad mini was unveiled to the world in November 2012, and in Q3 of 2012, it was reported that production had been increased for the slate's display. IHS iSuppli are now reporting that production volumes on the Retina panel for the refreshed iPad mini are similar to the launch levels from 2012.

IHS iSuppli thinks that LG are going to be the primary supplier of the high-res panels, with Sharp joining the supply chain shortly after.
