We've finally been greeted with the launch of the long-awaited Moto X from Google and Motorola, but you would think they would've launched a "Google Edition" at the same time, right?
Well, that isn't the case, with five of the major US carriers to sell the Moto X at first. Even though the Moto X is the first smartphone built fully under the control of Google after their acquisition of Motorola, US carriers who are selling the new smartphone will still put their spin on things. This means that OS updates will take longer than a Nexus or Google Edition smartphone.
Both Google and Motorola won't confirm the pricing of the Moto X Google Edition, with The Verge stating "the best we've heard so far is that it will go on sale 'soon'."
