I've always wanted to attend QuakeCon, but that's what you get when you live in Australia. Well, the organizers of the event have unveiled the lineup of tournaments, which includes Quake Live and Doom.
There will be tournaments divided into three categories, up first we have the Intel Quake Live Duel Invitational Master, which will pit known professionals and top Quake Live competitors against each other in an exclusive tournament. We will have up to 32 of the world's best Quake Live players competing for $18,000 in prize money, with competitors being hand-picked by event organizers.
The second competition will be a Quake Live Clan Arena 3v3 tournament, which is open to all. Up to 32 teams will participate in a single elimination bracket, with the top two teams duking it out in the grand finals. There will be $6,000 up for grabs in this tournament.
Finally, we'll see a Doom 20th anniversary challenge, where gamers will compete in a free-for-all match for prizes that include $1,000 for the champion. Registration for QuakeCon 2013 is open now, which will be held in Dallas, Texas between August 1-4.
