In Russia, smartphone buys you - three major Russian carriers ditch the iPhone

Three major wireless carriers in Russia ditch the iPhone, cuddle up to Samsung

Three of the major wireless carriers in Russia, MTS, MegaFon and VimpelCom have all ditched the iPhone, saying that tough contractual requirements are the reason they're not going to be selling the iPhone from now on.

VimpelCom were the last Russian carrier to push away from Apple, saying that they've now got Samsung at the top of their list of smartphone manufacturers to promote, which is second only to their own BeeLine brand of smartphones. VimpelCom dropped Apple because of their "draconian contracts" and "harsh conditions... especially in the marketing department," according to Dmitry Ryabinin, Chief Analyst for Russian Hi-Tech.

Have Apple jumped the iShark? I think they have. It's only going to get worse from here on out, folks.
