LG debunks rumors that it is working on Google's Nexus 5, says it does not need Google to be successful

LG is not working on the next Nexus smartphone, says they "do not need such success again"

A spokesperson for LG has confirmed that the company is not working on the next-generation Nexus phone from Google. The spokesperson did, however, say that LG "would not turn down the opportunity." This statement is in direct contradiction to a quote recently made by the company's EU Vice President.

For the past few weeks, rumors have been floating around that LG has been working on the next Nexus for Google, but in an interview, LG's European VP Won Kim strongly suggested that could not be farther from the truth.

During the same discussion, Kim said that LG "does not need such a marketing success again" and when asked about a "Google Edition Smartphone" such as Samsung's Galaxy S4 Google Edition, Kim said that doing so "has no added value for us without our own skins."
