A leaked memo shows that Barnes and Noble is planning to update their Simple Touch eReaders with an Internet browser and e-mail access. The update is said to be coming as of June 1 and is in response to consumer feedback over the recent update that brought Google Play to the Android line of Nook tablets.
Basic Internet access and e-mail access should boost sales as it provides more value to a rather focused device. It will still be more limited in what it is able to do, but it could be the perfect device for the less tech savvy (read: older users) among us.
