SamMobile is reporting confirmed specifications of a new Samsung tablet of the 8-inch variety. The new tablet, codenamed the GT-N5100, will be known as the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0 and will come in two versions: 3G/Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi only. The report says that the device will be making its appearance at Mobile World Congress 2013 in Barcelona.

The specifications are said top be a 8-inch 1280x800 TFT display, 5MP rear-facing camera, 1.3MP front-facing camera, 2GB of RAM, and a 4600mAh battery. A processor specification was not provided, though the system is said to be running Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It looks as though this could be a competitor to the iPad Mini.

Of course, this is just a rumor, so take it with a grain of salt. However, the source seems pretty confident, so it could just turn out to be true.
