After Amazon's attack on the iPad mini, a curious and potential customer reached out to Apple's Phil Schiller, who is the Senior Vice President of Marketing, regarding whether or not the iPad mini features a mono or stereo speaker setup. This customer got lucky as he actually got a response, one that will contradict what Amazon posted in their ad.
Phil Schiller's response to a rather wordy question regarding the mono/stereo debate was just three words: "It is stereo." When you're a Senior Vice President, time is money, though I think he could have sent back a little more than those three words. However, three words is all it takes to settle the rumors as to whether or not the iPad mini features stereo speakers.
So there you have it: the iPad mini does feature stereo speakers and Amazon's advertisement was incorrect. Will this affect anyone's buying decision? Probably not, but it is definitely nice to know for sure what is inside the device.
