We've already heard the rumor that Apple will be holding a press event September 12 to announce the new iPhone 5, among other things. Shortly after that event, rumors have pegged September 21 as the day the iPhone 5 will start shipping. Now, a new rumor has popped up saying that September 12 will see the start of iPhone 5 pre-orders.
iMore is citing sources that have provided "accurate iPhone launch dates in the past" to give credibility to these claims. If the press conference and pre-orders start the same day, this will be one of Apple's most aggressive launches to date. Previously, pre-orders would start a few days to a week after the press event.
Furthermore, iMore is saying that international launches of the iPhone 5 will occur in the first week of October, likely October 5. Additionally, rumors have said that Apple will be updating the entire line of mobile products with a new, smaller dock connector, along with releasing the rumored iPad mini. This could end up being the largest press event in Apple's history.
